Expertise & Experience K&D Company specializes in Electron Beam Welding with automated CNC capabilities, Helium Leak Testing, Metallographic Inspection, and Tooling. K&D Company incorporates computerized documentation through our custom weld software, which electronically catalogs part information, description, specifications, and traveler information merged with CAD drawings. All Weld certifications and Helium Leak test certifications are also computer generated and laser printed. This system is designed to save time and maintain accuracy for every job. K&D Company has proven to be the source of continued quality and on-time delivery. With over 100 years of staff combined experience, K&D Company has been the choice for national, international, government, and private businesses in the areas of E.B. welding of similar/dissimilar materials, weld joint design, and tooling. |

| Company History In 1949, K&D Company started as a contract job shop and in 1952 incorporated under the laws of California. In 1968, K&D Company purchased its first E.B. welding machine. Since then, the company has grown to over 11,500 square feet, with five E.B. welding machines and room for further expansion. Machines are constantly upgraded to meet stringent customer's demands. In 1995, K&D Company purchased its first 3-axis CNC (Computer Numeric Control) system. There are currently three machines with CNC capabilities. K&D Company's success is based upon continued customer satisfaction and employees who provide expertise to meet the most demanding delivery and quality requirements in aerospace, defense, medical, and commercial areas. |

| E.B. Welding There are typically three systems available: high vacuum, partial (soft) vacuum, and non-vacuum. K&D Company specializes only in high vacuum welding because it provides the highest degree of quality. Electron Beam Welding (E.B.W.) provides a consistent weld size and strength, normally stronger than the parent material. Welding of thick to thin material, similar to dissimilar, reactive, or refractive can easily be accomplished through E.B.W. |
