In-House Services

K&D Company offers many in-house services to meet your specific requirements. We weld a wide range of part sizes because of the various sizes of our electron beam weld vacuum chambers.  Extensions are available to increase the range up to 7 feet.  The machines have regulated power supplies to provide up to 25 KW for deep weld penetrations.  Multi-spindle tooling saves time and reduces cost.

K&D Company is a one-stop shop for our customers.  Along with our extensive experience with electron beam welding, we offer in-house services in conjunction with our nearby sister facility.

Helium Leak Testing

Helium Leak Testing is performed by using an Alcatel Model ASM 110 helium leak detector with turbo molecular pump.  This detector provides a direct reading of 1x10-10 cc/sec.

Engineering Services

If you have questions regarding weld joint design, tooling design, material weldability, or parts procedures, our experienced team will be pleased to assist you.  If you have additional requirements, we can assist you through our network of outside processors.

GTAW Tack Welding

When other methods are not practical to hold part position, GTAW tack welding may be the solution.  This is an additional in-house service provided by K&D Company.

Ultrasonic Cleaning

Certain jobs may require the use of ultrasonic cleaning.  Our tanks are best suited for small parts.

Using a digital microscope, micro-weld samples can be accurately measured within .0005" tolerance and evaluated.  Digital pictures are taken and maintained for objective evidence of the weld sample.

Stress Relieving

Ovens are used for pre-heating and post-stress relieving and in some cases assembly.  These ovens are capable of achieving a maximum operating temperatures of 650°F and 850°F.

Flow Benches

Three of our machines have their own certified (Class 5) Laminar Flow Benches. These benches control dust particles that may affect the performance of highly sensitive parts.

Inspection

K&D Company's inspection equipment is calibrated in accordance with ANSI / NCSL Z540 and is set-up on regularly established recalls.
